VR for Further Education.

Immersive, curriculum-relevant practicals for 16–18 learners in FE colleges and sixth forms. We bring the engineering, applied science, and health content that maps to T Levels, BTEC Nationals, A-Levels, and apprenticeships - on headsets or in any browser.

Why VR for FE

Built for technical and vocational learning.

Workshop & lab access, without the cost

Give every learner hands-on time with equipment that is expensive, scarce, or unsafe to run repeatedly - engines, substations, and lab apparatus - on a headset or in any browser.

Practise safely, as often as needed

Students repeat procedures - titrations, machine operation, fault-finding - with no consumables, breakages, or risk, until they are confident.

Employer-ready for placements

T Levels include an industry placement. Learners arrive having already handled real equipment and procedures, not just diagrams in a textbook.

Assessment built in

Track concept mastery and practical readiness for every student on the faculty dashboard, and export to your MIS or LMS.

What we cover

The content that fits Further Education.

We only bring across what is relevant to 16–18 study. Three areas of our library map directly onto FE qualifications.

Engineering & Manufacturing VR modules

Engineering & Manufacturing

Take machines apart, run them, and rebuild them - mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing principles made tangible for vocational and technical learners.

Supports

T Level in Engineering & Manufacturing - mechanical principles, electrical & electronic principles, materials, and mechatronics · BTEC National Engineering · City & Guilds / EAL technicals · Engineering apprenticeships

Applied Science VR modules

Applied Science

Run the core practicals of applied science - acid–base and redox titrations, tissue culture, and cell biology - repeatable infinitely, with no consumables or breakage.

Supports

T Level in Science · BTEC National Applied Science - cells & tissues, biological molecules, and chemistry practicals · A-Level Chemistry & Biology practical endorsement

Health & Healthcare Science VR modules

Health & Healthcare Science

Explore life-size anatomy and physiology - the structure of the heart and a full cardiac cycle - for health and care learners moving toward clinical pathways.

Supports

T Level in Health and in Healthcare Science · BTEC Health & Social Care · A-Level Biology

What is iXRLabs VR for Further Education?

iXRLabs brings curriculum-relevant virtual reality (VR) practicals to Further Education - for 16–18 learners in FE colleges and sixth forms. It covers engineering and manufacturing, applied science, and health, and runs in any web browser or on a VR headset, so colleges deliver hands-on practice without expensive workshops or lab consumables.

Which FE qualifications does iXRLabs VR support?

Our VR modules map to T Levels (Engineering & Manufacturing, Science, Health, and Healthcare Science), BTEC Nationals (Engineering, Applied Science, Health & Social Care), A-Levels in physics, chemistry, and biology, and City & Guilds / EAL technicals and apprenticeships. We align each module to your exam-board specification before deployment.

Do students need a VR headset to use iXRLabs?

No. Every module runs in any modern web browser on laptops, desktops, and Chromebooks, with no installs. Headsets such as Meta Quest, ClassVR, and Pico add a fully immersive experience - and any 6DOF headset is supported - but they are optional, which makes VR affordable for FE colleges to start.

How does VR support T Level industry placements?

T Levels require an industry placement, and VR helps learners arrive job-ready. Students rehearse real equipment and procedures - operating engines, machines, and substations, or running lab experiments - as many times as they need, building practical confidence and employer-ready skills before they reach the workplace.

Which subjects are covered for FE colleges and sixth forms?

Three areas of our library are relevant to 16–18 study: Engineering & Manufacturing (mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing principles), Applied Science (chemistry titrations, cell biology, and tissue culture), and Health & Healthcare Science (anatomy and physiology). We only bring across content that fits the FE curriculum.

Can VR labs replace physical workshops and labs in FE?

VR complements physical labs rather than replacing them. It gives every student unlimited, safe, repeatable access to equipment and experiments that are expensive, scarce, or hazardous - cutting consumable costs and freeing up workshop time - while physical practice remains for hands-on assessment.

How do FE colleges get started, and what does it cost?

We curate the FE-relevant modules into a package sized for your courses, cohort, and budget, with the 7thi AI tutor, faculty analytics, and deployment support included. Book a demo and we will map a package to your T Level, BTEC, or A-Level courses - see packages and pricing for details.
