iXRLabs is committed to digital accessibility for all learners. This statement covers both our website and the iXRLabs VR packages, and summarises the results of our latest VPAT® conformance assessment.
1. Our commitment
Accessibility is central to our mission of widening access to practical, lab-based learning. We work to ensure that students, faculty, and staff — including people with disabilities — can access our website and our learning content. Because every VR module is also available in a web mode that runs in any browser on any device, students who cannot use a VR headset can complete the same coursework without one.
2. Standards we target
- Our website is designed and tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
- Our VR product is assessed against WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA and the Revised Section 508 standards, documented in a VPAT® 2.5 report.
3. VR product conformance (VPAT summary)
The following summarises the conformance of the iXRLabs all VR Packages product, evaluated by manual testing against WCAG 2.1 A/AA and Revised Section 508. VR headset hardware accessibility is provided by the headset manufacturer and is outside the scope of this report. Some criteria are Not Applicable because of the inherent nature of headset-based VR (no web pages, hyperlinks, keyboard, or external assistive-technology layer).
| Area | Conformance | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Captions & subtitles for audio | Supports | Subtitles are provided for all spoken audio and enabled by default. |
| Time limits | Supports | No time limits — the experience waits for the learner to proceed. |
| Focus visible & focus order | Supports | A visible cursor/highlight indicates focus; sub-modules follow a logical order. |
| Minimum contrast (text/UI) | Supports | Text and UI elements meet the minimum contrast ratio. |
| Multi-language interface | Supports | Roman-script languages including English, Czech, and Romanian. |
| Use of colour / without colour perception | Partially supports | Colour is supplemented by animated arrows and glowing buttons; some contrast and spatial-cue reliance remains. |
| Pause / stop audio | Partially supports | Audio can be replayed; pausing mid-playback is not yet available. |
| Cognitive support | Partially supports | Structured, step-by-step guidance with no time pressure; no simplified-language mode yet. |
| Audio description of visuals | Does not support | Audio descriptions of on-screen visuals are not currently provided. |
| Resize text in headset | Does not support | Display resolution and field of view are fixed by the headset hardware. |
| Operable without vision | Does not support | Visual feedback is fundamental to the immersive VR medium. |
| Limited manipulation / alternative UI | Does not support | Interactions require VR controllers; an alternative non-VR interface is not built into the headset product (web mode is available separately). |
| Keyboard / page titles / link purpose / AT object model | Not applicable | Headset-based VR has no web pages, hyperlinks, keyboard input, or external assistive-technology layer. |
Report: VPAT® 2.5 (Revised) · Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 Level A/AA · Product: iXRLabs all VR Packages · Report date: 15 June 2026. This represents iXRLabs' good-faith assessment as of that date and is not a legal guarantee of conformance.
4. Website accessibility
For this website we aim for WCAG 2.1 AA: semantic headings, descriptive alt text on images, labels on icon-only links, keyboard operability, visible focus, sufficient colour contrast, and respect for reduced-motion preferences. If you find a page that falls short, please let us know.
5. Request the full report or report a barrier
The complete VPAT is available to procurement teams and users on request. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, need content in an alternate format, or require an accommodation, contact us at accessibility@ixrlabs.com or nihar.madkaiker@ixrlabs.com. We aim to respond promptly and will work with your institution to provide an equivalent alternative.
6. Accessibility FAQ
Does iXRLabs work for students who can't use a VR headset?
Yes. Every module is also available in web mode, which runs in any browser on a desktop, tablet, or phone — so students can complete the same coursework without a headset.
Is there a VPAT available?
Yes. iXRLabs maintains a VPAT® 2.5 report covering WCAG 2.1 A/AA and Revised Section 508 for the VR packages. Request a copy at accessibility@ixrlabs.com.
