PPN 006 Carbon Reduction Plan Note

1. Overview and reporting entity

iXRLabs recognises the UK Government’s commitment to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and the requirements set out under Procurement Policy Note 006 (PPN 006) for relevant government procurements. PPN 006 applies to relevant procurements by central government departments, executive agencies and non-departmental public bodies and requires applicable suppliers to demonstrate their commitment to Net Zero through a Carbon Reduction Plan.

2. Our commitment

iXRLabs is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its operations and supports the objective of achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 at the latest.

As a technology and immersive learning organisation, our principal areas of environmental impact arise from office operations, electricity consumption, employee travel and commuting, cloud and digital infrastructure, procurement of technology equipment, and transportation associated with hardware where applicable.

3. Carbon reduction priorities

Over the coming years, iXRLabs intends to progressively measure and reduce emissions across its operations through the following initiatives:

• Digital-first delivery: Continue delivering software, immersive content, training, support and product updates digitally wherever practical, reducing physical distribution and associated transportation.
• Local hardware sourcing: Wherever feasible, hardware supplied to customers will be sourced within the customer’s market. For UK deployments, compatible VR/MR hardware will be procured through UK supply channels rather than routinely shipped from India.
• Reduced business travel: Continue using remote demonstrations, onboarding, training and customer-support sessions wherever these can effectively replace international or domestic travel.
• Energy-efficient operations: Encourage responsible electricity consumption and use of energy-efficient IT and office equipment across our operations.
• Cloud and infrastructure efficiency: Consider resource utilisation and efficiency when selecting and managing cloud infrastructure and digital services.
• Employee awareness: Increase employee awareness regarding energy conservation, responsible travel, waste reduction and environmentally responsible working practices.
• Supplier engagement: Progressively incorporate environmental considerations into supplier selection and engagement, particularly for hardware, logistics and other material suppliers.
• Waste reduction: Encourage reuse and responsible disposal of IT and electronic equipment and minimise unnecessary physical materials and packaging.

4. Measurement and reporting

iXRLabs intends to formalise its organisational carbon accounting process and establish a measurable baseline covering relevant Scope 1, Scope 2 and required Scope 3 emissions. Under PPN 006, the required Scope 3 categories include upstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations, business travel, employee commuting, and downstream transportation and distribution.

Once the baseline assessment is completed, iXRLabs will use it to establish measurable reduction actions, monitor progress and periodically review its Carbon Reduction Plan.

5. Governance and continuous improvement

Responsibility for environmental performance will sit with iXRLabs management, supported by relevant operational, procurement and administrative teams. Our Carbon Reduction Plan will be reviewed as our organisation and UK activities grow, with the objective of progressively improving the quality of our emissions measurement and carbon reduction initiatives.
